Hi and Happy New Year!
I hope this newsletter finds you lounging on a couch, nestled under a bunch of blankets (and hopefully a pet), with fun romcoms on in the background ready for a wave of vintage to wash over you. I intentionally delayed this newsletter for release today so you could just wander through the warren of RGV, hopping between the current edition and any of the 130+ others should you want some stylish, lazy time to be inspired and shop.
Like everyone, I can’t believe a full year has passed again and what is time, etc. But in lieu of despondent ruminating (which is my wont), let’s take a little walk through some of the most popular newsletters of the year! Below are 10 of both mine and your favorites from the last twelve months in no particular order:
1. Recreating five Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy looks
2. Artists and the t-shirts that praise them
3. Bode-inspired vintage edit (pt. 2 & 3)
4. Interiors as fashion inspiration
5. Exploring color theory with silk separates
6. Vintage does The Frankie Shop pt. 2
7. Five hyper specific events and the clothes to wear to them
8. Your spring capsule wardrobe has arrived! (and fall pt. 1 and 2)
9. Minimal looks for maximum impact
And here are more to peruse, based on their general topics:
How to wear: Sheer tunic, Pinstripe shorts vest suit, Black jackets, Celery pants
Deep dives: Sheer pants & skirts, Square tank, Striped oxfords, Plain sweatshirts
Colors: Taupe, green, red & cream, blue & orange, light pink
Just some cute ‘fits: One, two, three, four
(If you’re interested in some inside baseball, all editions pass a 60% open rate, but many pass 80% and one of these hit 89%. As a former marketing manager that is UNREAL. THANK YOU.)
Now that you’ve caught up on nearly a year’s writing, it’s time for you to really settle in because I have for you the largest ‘Things I Like’ I’ve ever built! 52 pieces in total, ready for your eager secondhand-loving eyes. This is a massive collage so I would suggest reading on your computer, and don’t let collage fatigue hit! There are some statement pieces in here but more than anything, there are some really great wardrobe essentials that might just be the missing piece you’ve been looking for. There’s stripes, classic sweaters, sheer skirts, saucy sets, silk dusters, boots, mesh heels, stressed out cat sweatshirts, cargo pockets on everything, and scalloped Lagerfeld palazzos. Everything you could ever want!
I know I always say this when closing each week, but I cannot possibly thank you enough for supporting this newsletter. Styling and vintage are absolute necessities in my life, and being able to combine those two imperatives while also helping others parse through the noise and find treasures of their own is pure joy. You don’t need to shell out the dough nor chase every trend to find your style and I feel incredibly lucky to have a community of people who feel similarly. It often feels like I can’t not write this thing and I’m just grateful I have people to share this all with. Thank you thank you thank you. In whatever capacity you’re here, paid or no, if you could share this passion project with your friends, family, coworkers, enemies - it would be so appreciated.
Anyhow, without further gilding the lily and no more adieu…happy shopping, my beauties!
