Your spring capsule wardrobe has arrived!
Or as I like to call it, "choose your own adventure" closet
Hi and greetings from this Wednesday!
I’ll be honest and put it right out there that I haven’t been the most inspired as of late to write this thing, mostly because my life’s a little in the air right now and every routine I’d laid out for myself has ben upended (the fact that there was a mass shooting in my hometown absolutely knocked me back, too. Call your representatives!). But also I’ve seen nearly every season in the last week and I haven’t been sure what I, myself, am inspired to wear so it’s hard to try and lead and inspire and incite sartorial innovation in the masses. Heavy is the head and all that.
But as all writers know, sometimes you just persevere and you write and eventually the writing starts to feel right. I am not a writer but I am a stylist and it feels like the same magic occurred to me. I started pulling some things that I liked, beginning with the one shoulder bathing suit and striped silk pants. Then I remembered I had a short suit I wanted to showcase before the weather really turned hot, and a great cropped vest that needed to be seen, and before I knew what I’d done, I had found a bunch of separates that could be mixed and matched and worked together. I could have built a bunch of separate outfits but then I figured I’d give you space for your own creative wandering and went about finding shoes and accessories that could also be mixed and matched and melded with any piece in the matrix.
I called it a ‘Choose Your Own Adventure” but in SEO speak, I guess what I’ve done is built a capsule wardrobe (all that’s missing are jeans, sandals, and a pair of sneakers) and this whole diagram could take you through spring, summer, and dare I say it…into fall?
