Hi and happy Friday!
To kick off this newsletter may I just say: I’m over it. I’m over summer and the suffocating heat and sweating and my summer wardrobe. It took me three extra days to write this one newsletter because the inspiration was just not flowing. Like the heat had permeated my brain and left it sizzling on the sidewalk, scorching every synapse. Blah.
So, when in my eBay wandering I happened upon the paillette jacket in look one, I said “f*ck it” and decided to style for fall! Join me in willful seasonal ignorance and let’s get excited to dress with layers! And cashmere! And leather!
And wouldn’t you know, once I found one black jacket, I found twenty, but narrowed it down to three extras which could take you all the way to wintry weather.
Because inspiration wasn’t sizzling, this will be my only newsletter this week. So free subscribers, you’ll get to shop and see the first look (everyone should have access to that jacket!!), and then the other three looks are for the paid subscribers. You are welcome to upgrade to shop it all, but just know next week will be back with a big ole round-up of more fall stuff because I really am so deeply over summer. Et tu?
Either way, thank you all as always for being here! Hope you find some inspiration if you, too, are mired in the muck of this heat.
Happy shopping!
The jacket! The jacket! I know you’re looking at it and are like..”huh, yeah that’s pretty cute” but you need to click the link because beside the button placket is a layer of sequins and then you hit the paillettes and it’s short sleeve and silk-lined and it’s probably what Ashish has on their inspo board except with a post-it that says, “COLOR!”. Basically, this is couture-level construction that would be so fun to play around with. Throw this on over a striped long sleeve top and some jeans? Also a hit. I, however, went with this forever-classic heather cropped cashmere top and navy cummerbund pants. Going for a deconstructed black tie look that support but don’t outshine the jacket. Then, these Manolos which have the simplest but best little detail to round it out (if you ever find these in an 8/8.5, let me know!).
