Vintage does Cowboy Carter

Can I get a yee-haw for a 46-piece, rodeo-inspired shopping list in honor of Beyoncé's new album?

Sometimes I think my instincts are so spot-on it’s scary. As I was mapping out this month’s newsletters, I had earmarked one week to be about Western wear. I’d slowly been collecting pieces over the last few months and the list was busting at the seams. As I laid out two Bode newsletters and interview with Anna Gray, I debated between Western gear and light pink (which will be making its yearly debut soon) for the following week. I then realized if I published the Western issue today, it would coincide exactly with the drop of Beyoncé’s newest album, Cowboy Carter. Will wonders never cease?

So in honor of Beyoncé (and her badass new cover of “Jolene” which reminds me of my favorite Loretta Lynn song, “Fist City” [yes that’s the title lol]), here is a 46-piece ‘Things I Like’ packed to the gills with all kinds of goodies. Only a couple pieces are really over-the-top kitsch and fun (I’m looking at you #5 & #31), the rest have just enough cowboy energy to add a tinge of the West to your outfits. A bit of fringe here or a boot there can exude a lot of yee-haw without a lot of hoopla. Take your time going through this, each piece has special details or fabrication to really make them special (i.e. the snake print dress is leather, the white button down is chain stitched with, “Sweetheart of the Rodeo,” the black & white purse is pony hair, etc). I’ll keep my comments to a minimum so you can giddy up!
