Hi and happy Friday!
Have you ever been so overwhelmed by perfection that you can’t even start a task? There are so many angles to take, so many paths to trod that you can’t take the first step? That’s kind of what happened with this week’s newsletter. It actually happens like clockwork each time I sit down to write about wedding looks (1, 2, 3) or New Year’s Eve looks (1, 2, 3, 4). There are so many options out there that it’s hard to know where to start. My computer has sounded like Cape Canaveral all week from being overworked with the many, many (many) tabs I had open and wasn’t confident enough to close. It certainly doesn’t help that there are so many fantastic vintage fashion Substacks and I want mine to stand out amongst the very talented crowed. Tough stuff. Brains are so annoying!
I benefit from the fact that nearly everything I post is under $150 (style doesn’t have to mean $$$ and I stand by that!) which narrows down the options slightly but there’s still an overabundance of choices. I could write this exact same newsletter every hour for a week and have entirely new options to share with you each time.
As you can see, I’ve been a little in my head about all this.
Alas, I can’t say I had some big realization that flipped the switch and my brilliance poured forth. No, it was mainly guilt that finally spurred me to sit down, style, and make the tough choices between this tab and that. But thank goodness it did! If nothing else this has been a nice reminder to not take things so seriously. If I had just let go of the need to perfect and have the best NYE look newsletter then this would have gotten to you sooner and I wouldn’t have been wracked with worry all week.
But here it is! And I’m excited to share this one with you as there are over 50 items to shop in this bad boy! Seven styled looks and then 30 dresses to peruse ranging in vibe from crowded dive bar to black tie.
One quick thing before all that, though: I just dropped a seven-piece collection of Christian Dior pieces in the shop!
White button down // Navy sweater // Black sweater // Camel sweater
Thank you all for bearing with me as I work out the kinks of my own brain! I hope the wait was well worth it and you find some fabulously sparkly thing to trot around town in. In case you missed it, I also dropped my store’s holiday collection here and there are still some fab pieces available there, too!
Happy shopping!

When I found this skirt, I immediately thought of this Ralph Lauren show from 1997 header image! Obviously we can’t recreate Ralph Lauren with such exposed abs, but this bubble hem sequin blouse is still cropped and fabulous. I love that it has just the slightest shimmer so you’ll practically glow as you glide across the floor. So glam. Thanks to the crew neckline we’ll skip a necklace and go with some big ole earrings. And should your shoes peek out from the skirt it’ll have nice print to keep things interesting but the heel is low for maximum comfort. I wish I had a place to go to where this.
