Good morning and happy Saturday!
It’s ze holiday season and while I appreciate your all’s support of my holiday collection drop last Friday, I’m sure you’re excited to get back to our regular programming. Below we’ve got three very disparate NYE looks and then a HUGE smattering of dresses and jumpsuits for all your holiday needs. I also dropped a massive LBD newsletter on Tuesday, so sign up to be a paid subscriber if you want to get access to that, too!
Miami Rooftop Party
This outfit needs both steam and breathing room. Like, it needs a hot, sticky evening with a salty breeze that offers hints and peeks of this incredible rhinestone bra that is sexily shimmering under the Gianfranco Ferre deeeeep plunge dress. You’re baring sternum, so I love that the rest of this dress is full coverage. All you need to do is add some smoked lucite wedges (by Gucci! tbh these def need a new insole but that is a very cheap fix) and some shimmery earrings to call back to your shimmery boobs. My partner Duncan saw this outfit and started singing, “Like a rhinestone bra-ssiere” to the tune of Glen Campbell’s “Rhinestone Cowboy” so if that isn’t a glowing endorsement then I don’t what is.
New York gala season
I don’t know how to tell you how much I adore this skirt. I also don’t know why it has me so transfixed? I’ve been sitting on it for months trying to find the right way to style it and why not for a gala? It deserves a slow-motion entrance! The gradient effect rendered in velvet is just stellar and almost pixellated. It’s so odd but that’s why it’s the best! It’s unexpected but when you add in more traditional trappings in black velvet, it becomes not just unexpected but outstanding. And that is a thigh-high slit on that skirt thankyouverymuch. The one shoulder top is luxe, as are the Prada velvet wedges, and the clutch with hand charms (which I believe are supposed to clasp your gloves) is just offbeat enough to add interest but not take away from the star of the show.
Classic NYE!
I mean, black and gold, some sheen and sequin? Full hearts, can’t lose or something like that. Anyhow, this will work wherever you are, whenever you are. A gold lamé bustier is so fun but these pants! THESE PANTS! They are so special. With a quilted obi belt-style waist and then belted ankle details? Vintage is so f*cking cool. The starburst earrings require an updo, of course, and these beaded mules tie it all up in a bow. All of these pieces seem so basic but you won’t look like anyone else which is my vintage sweet spot! I want to surprise and delight but not overwhelm.
