Hi and happy Sunday!
This version of the newsletter has always been a favorite of mine (see here, here, here) and it’s been so long since I had the brain space to bring it to fruition. Inspiration, as well you know, can take any form in how and where it finds you. Sometimes if you’re lucky it will leap straight at your eyeballs and dive right into your brain! Sometimes you have to be the digger of the well. And when no inspiration has swan-dived into my brain and my brain well needs some digging (what is this metaphor I’ve sunk my teeth into sweet jesus), the first place I look for inspiration is interiors. I have a trusty folder on Instagram where I save any interiors that strike my fancy! It’s incredibly helpful! Maybe it’s a color, maybe it’s a play of light or textile-mixing. Maybe it’s the plants or more obviously - some cool ass furniture or art. Anything that makes me stop my scrolling heads into that folder and becomes newsletter fodder for another day.
And here we are! That other day! While my personal style always leans more minimal and classic, my home style is anything but. I lean heavily on the 70s: browns, yellows, reds, oranges, browns, homemade pieces clearly from a home ec or shop class, and browns. Gimme the all weird stuff! So more often than not, that’s what my inspo folder is full of and that’s what we’ll have fun with today. Bolder, brighter, and weirder.
Happy shopping!

Room/Look One
The look: Striped sweater (xs-m), $18 + Red leather belt (xs-m), $9* + The Limited green corduroys (s/m), $21* + Nike orange sneakers (8), $85*
I love the high contrast of color and mixed prints this Belgian interior designer has created. They’re eye-catching with joyous levity and who couldn’t use a bit of that? The key here is stripes and color so to create the outfit I miraculously - and I mean miraculously, this just kind of popped up randomly I don’t even remember what I searched for - found this *perfect* sweater. The cords I borrowed from a previous newsletter because they were clearly meant for this one, and I went a little Scandi with my shoe styling and chose an orange sneaker to finish off the outfit.
Room/Look Two
The look: Brown suede jacket (xs), $142 + Esprit angora blend floral cardigan set (m), $45 + Red leather pants (xs/s), $40* + JCrew dark brown leather boots (12), $36
Tuft Luck Studio is a London-based watercolor artist whom I’ve followed for a long time and own a couple of her prints! I’m in awe of how much range she has gleaned from a narrow vision (I mean that very complimentary): delighting in western regalia via sensual and playful women. This image is a rare painting, but when I stumbled upon this angora cardigan set, I knew that print looked familiar. It’s easy, then, to build out the rest of the look in her signature tones with western flair. Like her art, this look is both tough and soft and the juxtaposition is where the magic lies.
