Hi and happy Sunday!
We here at RGV HQ are big fans of Armani - we love the impeccable tailoring, the balance of masc/femme cuts/styling, we love the sumptuous fabrics and the surprising silhouettes. We’re also big fans of tunics - the layering possibilities, the fun proportion play, the unexpectedness. So imagine our (my) collective delight when we (I) stumbled across a perfect little Armani tunic, ripe for the styling.
And I’m not the only one who delight in this transitional piece! Just three days ago,
wrote about her love of styling a newly-shortened minidress as a tunic and of course her outfits were stellar and got my brain churning with inspiration. So, without further adieu, here she is, the belle of the ball:
So cute, right? The halter neckline, the criss-cross of the front, the fact that this looks like a long vest. This is almost too short to be a minidress (as TRR has it labeled) but I’m thinking this is nestled right in the sweet spot of tunic-ville.
So let’s get to styling!

Look One
Allow me to paint a picture for you: It’s a brisk fall evening and golden hour light has started to seep its way into your apartment. It reflects off the mirror as you put the final touches of your look together, giddy with anticipation. You’re going to the New York ballet at the Lincoln Center for the first time. Chic, elegant, with just a little nod to the theme, you descend into the city, arms locked with your lover/best friend/sibling, ready to take on the night! But logistically, you’ll start with the bodysuit, then add this incredible skirt (someone help me find this in a L/XL), pop the tunic on top, then add shoes, a bag, and some big brushed gold earrings. Fab.
