Hi and happy Friday!
This Tuesday we took a look at a favorite color combo of red & creme - an unbeatable duo if there ever was one. I styled up five looks using the same pair of classic cream jeans, kicking it off with this easy but effective look:
So for this week’s round-up, I’m sharing pieces I loved but couldn’t figure out how to use on Tuesday! You’ll find more cream, red, and a small smattering of black. There’s a hearty sampling of plissé (as usual), great red bottoms, and two pieces for just $5(!!).
A bit of housekeeping before you peruse: I’ll be back in NYC next week (hooray!) which means I’ll publish Tuesday’s paid newsletter as usual but there will be no Friday newsletter because I will be deeeeep in vacation mode. If you still need your hit of vintage, upgrade below, otherwise I’ll see you August 4!
Happy shopping!
1. Tiered cream plisse skirt, $54. The perfect summer skirt that would be a great option if attempting to recreate this look. (I’m still on the hunt for a red one, though!).
2. Anne Klein red balloon shorts, $75 (another great red short option here). These shorts! Not only are they a fab color and excellent cut, the listing also has the original photo of the seller in them in the 80s! Love buying pieces from their original owners - you know those things have been loved and adored and need a good home that cherishes them just as much.
3. Valentino Sport striped tee, $28. Pretty great classic tee. You can’t beat a stripe, eh?
4. Black crinkle skirt set, $28. If you can’t tell, this is a boat neck top with midi skirt set! So chic, so cheap (eat your heart out, Moschino).
5. Italia facts sweatshirt, $35. This would be cute and unexpected with #1 or cute and bold with #2.
6. Byblos striped skirt set, $84. The Real Real styled this poorly (why is there a tshirt under there? Give that waistband more airtime!) but just use your mind’s fashion eye and you can see how amazing this striped summer set is together and apart.
7. Escada red wide leg pants, $58. The shape on these red pants…oof. So, so modern and excellent in tandem with #18 tucked in. Or a white tee and #11. Or go all-in and toss on #10.
8. Givenchy gold link necklace, $64. Chic and fabulous. Hard to beat.
9. Black strappy open back dress, $22. Love a walking away dress! So simple from the front and then wow them in the back. Classic Ray-Bans and espadrilles would be my summer vacation take on this beaut.
10. Red silk vest, $5. A silk vest for $5! What’s not to love? Would be so cute with #14 or with light denim and #11.
11. Cream leather blazer, $60. I see a lot of these when I’m sourcing but the cut of this one is why I’m sharing. I love the length! Very running-around-the-city-doing-errands-but-looking-cool-while-doing-it. Plus with a blazer like this, it’s your whole look. You could wear a full sweatsuit under this with loafers and it would still be cool.
12. Red plisse dress, $75. Who has a wedding coming up? Here’s your striking look that is so simple but so successful.
13. Lloyd/Ford strappy back knit tank, $75. Just love a strappy back, I guess! How good would this be with #7 and #15 for meeting up with friends for a coffee and/or cocktail?
14. Red grid shorts w belt, $26. Great print, great trapeze cut (my favorite for short shorts), AND a matching belt?
15. I. Magnin pony hair loafers, $55. I’m not a huge animal print person, but this minimal Dalmatian-esque version has always been my one exception.
16. Striped crochet short set, $12. Absolutely not vintage but so fun I wanted to share anyhow. Maybe as a beach cover-up look?
17. B&W print skirt set, $5. This whole set! Both pieces! For $5! And it’s so cute! And it’s the easiest way to get dressed in the morning and feel put-together!
18. Co. cream polo, $48. Just a classic top that can be worn in any way for any occasion. Maybe add #8 just for fun.
That’s it for this week! Happy Barbenheimer weekend to all who celebrate and Tuesday I’ll be sharing multiple ways to style an insane sheer Kenzo set I found - see you then! Thanks as always for being here xx Maggie
Once again, 4 items already sold before I opened my copy! Such great sourcing!
