A little bit of summer, a little bit of fall
A confused (but chic!) curation for a confused dresser
Hi and happy Friday!
Tuesday’s newsletter was initially inspired by this taupe backless tank and spiraled into styling four outfits using the color taupe. Thanks to that, you’ll find a few other taupe pieces in today’s collage that didn’t need an outfit for it to be showcased, including a long leather jacket that is beautiful.
The weather here has been swinging between 100+ degree and suffocatingly humid to low 60s, cool and lovely (I’m writing this with the windows open!), so not only have I been confused but also uninspired to get dressed. I say this because the below collage is a strange mix between summer and fall but that’s where my head’s at these days. Et tu?
There’s some color (!), some print (!!), and of course plenty of neutrals and I do have to apologize because this might be the ugliest collage I’ve made - but don’t let that sway you! The stuff it contains is super effin cute. So…
…happy shopping!
1. Abstract animal button down, $49. So Bode. Love the colors and shading on the animals (see the fish?) and would be excellent when paired with #4.
2. Taupe leather duster, $145. I know it’s still hot and this is slightly pricier than I usually share but…look at her. She will love you and hug you and elevate every outfit you own come September. The length? The covered buttons? Divine.
3. Gold ball chain necklace, $25. Feels like a punky Hermès.
4. Pierre Cardin windowpane pants, $35. The perfect pant for a minimalist who loves color. You can keep it minimal and bold with #15 + #6 or go full maximalist with #7 + #13. You can’t lose!
5. Cream crochet button-front dress, $58. Still need a sexy-but-easy vacation dress for Sicily? Here ya go.
6. Ferragamo heeled mules, $35. A total classic and you can twin with me! I just bought a pair and these were ones that were too big for me. Easy to wear casual or formal, thanks to the little heel. And easy to wear in summer of fall. Another one where you can’t lose!
7. Red floral ditsy cardigan, $25. I mean. This is precious! Like Liberty got into knitwear.
8. Blue striped button down, $32. Always on the lookout for good striped button downs.
9. Trapeze trench, $70. Added the back angle because although I love the blazer lapel on the front, the trapeze pleating on the back is so cinematic! Like, I imagine Audrey Hepburn in vintage Givenchy in like, How to Steal a Million gallivanting with Peter O’Toole. (If you haven’t seen that movie, look at what you’re missing out on!)
10. Cream vest & short set, $40. You know how I feel about vest sets. This is cute as-is, but imagine it with a turtleneck, some sheer black tights, and knee-high boots for fall. Love.
11. Dark denim duster, $15. When I first found this it was $20 and it was already a great deal but look, they sweetened the pot and saved you $5!
12. Escada cream rope strap dress, $49. The straps! Click the link for the straps!
13. Stuart Weitzman red patent sandals, $25. Have an upcoming wedding? Here’s a bold pop of color with a heel that will let you dance all night long.
14. St. John striped knit, $55. 70s does the 40s. Note the little puff sleeve and square neckline.
15. Givenchy Sport logo sweater, $55. Givenchy Sport is a deep well of excellent little pullovers like this one. This one just happens to be a gorgeous power color.
16. Nina Ricci gold farfalle necklace, $70. Cute chain for pasta lovers! I don’t think they’re technically supposed to be farfalle but it’s close enough and adds some whimsy and what’s wrong with that?
17. Pierre Cardin tan dropwaist dress, $34. Add #3 and #13 for a chic little throw-on-and-go outfit.
Thanks as always for being here and have a great weekend! If you’re looking for anything in particular during this weird weather time, drop it in the comments! xx Maggie
Please find me another crochet dress! It's already gone!!!!!
And, I NEED the pasta necklace <3
