Hi and happy Thursday!
If you’re a follower of fashion, or even if you’re not, I’m sure you saw snippets of the recent Celine SS26 runway show at Paris Couture Fashion Week. If you missed it, you can swipe through the entire show here. Like many, Phoebe Philo’s Celine era remains a bright spot of fashion history in my mind and it’s one of a few fashion houses I’ve kept up with.
The new designer, Michael Rider, is former creative director of Polo Ralph Lauren and you can see the peeks of prep peppered throughout the show: bold color blocked blazer looks; cardigans slung over shoulders; and layered turtlenecks. There are also a few ways he styled scarves that I’d like to try come fall. I’m excited by the way he’s married Americana with classically chic Parisian touches: black socks with flats; minimal cocktail and black tie attire; and just undone-enough layering.
Obviously I enjoyed the show and think it’s a strong start, if ultimately just a touch lackluster. Excited to see what he does next which is always the mark of a compelling designer.
Today I’ve chosen six looks to recreate with vintage because hot damn if Celine didn’t also make some of these looks incredibly dupe-able!
So get to it! xx
(If you enjoy this series, you can catch up on past designers I’ve vintage-ized here: Calvin Klein, Adam Lippes, FW23, Frankie Shop pt. 1, Frankie Shop pt. 2).

Look One

I love the insouciant layering of these tshirts paired with what looks like silk trousers. The entire outfit punctuated by black is also just enough thoughtfulness without looking too done. I actually recreated this look in my own life yesterday! I chose too hot & humid a day for it, though, so beware wearing layered tshirts is hotter than you expect. I’ll say now what I said yesterday, too - how do I not own cream wide leg pants??
