Happy post-Thanksgiving folks!
You’re either shopping or watching movies on a couch under a million blankets so this newsletter will be just as chilled out as you are. Hope you’re filled to the brim with food and hugs!
Before we get to four styled looks, BIG announcement time: The RGV Holiday Collection will be dropping next Friday on the website (Thursday for paid subscribers, so sign up if you want early access!) and here is a little sneak peek! Lots of glitz, lots of black, and lots of different sizes and prices! There will be fringe (on a dress AND on underwear!), some incredible fur coats, a slouchy tuxedo, a very Vivienne Westwood look, and sheer bits and bobs. Modeled by my gorgeous friend Charlotte and shot by the amazing Elizabeth Withers, this was a dream to put together, hope you love it!
RIGHT?! I’ll be sharing more sneak peeks on Instagram throughout the week, too.
Anyhow, for now here are four styled looks for ya. Two with some print and color, and two with a minimal, neutral bend.
Happy shopping!
This look started with the pants which have *just* enough of a preppy equestrian vibe without going full 90s WASP villain. The trim on the pockets and belt loops are small but cool details. Then I kept it all in the same tonal family! This organza blouse is chic and while those sleeves should be given significant airtime, adding a varying striped blazer is a low-stakes way to print mix without overwhelming. Then you know I’m a Loafer Lady™ so these were an easy addition, with the piping on the loaf mirroring the pant pockets. Details!
Get wild with navy! While I can’t claim that all these navys match because ebay photos are hard to gauge, I love the idea behind the outfit. Mix all the prints! Keeping things tonal makes print mixing much easier. Diamond-print + plaid + cow print can all be calmed with this chiiiiiic tie-front jacket, though, if it all feels like a touch too much for you.
Why eat cranberry sauce when you can be the cranberry sauce? Keep the blouse untucked under the turtleneck for a peek of print or surprise everyone with your matching prowess when you rip off the turtleneck (which matches the pants) to reveal the blouse (whose print matches the earrings)! This week’s newsletter is obviously very into pairing colors, and this one is the boldest of the lot.
This feels like the most classic RGV of the bunch: neutral, minimal, sleek. It doesn’t need much explanation cuz I know you get it, but please note the sneakily luxe vibe the look. The coat is a sweeping length, perfect for pairing with a long dress + tall boots. Then this little collar is just enough detail to offer an understated impact - a very “NYC romcom lead” vibe - it needs an ice skating rink and big, floating snowflakes.
Have a great long weekend, thank you for being here, and get PUMPED for the holiday collection! Sign up for the paid newsletter on the RGV home page!
Thanks as always for being here xoxo Maggie
