Tis the season for transitional clothes
Kind of? Not really, I guess, but I found such incredible fall things!
Hi and happy Sunday!
After an overwhelming response to my inquiry, the newsletter is officially moving to Sundays! That works just fine for me, as it gives me more breathing room to stay on a consistent schedule. Because of the change, though, next Sunday will be our last newsletter of August which traditionally is the free edition. Today’s curation was originally going to be the free version, so I’ve bumped it up one week and next week will be our ‘Shop Talk’ series with Gem App founder, Liisa Jokinen!
While we’re on the subject of interviews, I wanted to share my first podcast interview ever thanks to Emily Stochl of Pre-loved Podcast! So thrilling! We talk my very winding journey to where I am now, where we find inspiration, and favorite finds. Listen below:
But now on to the good stuff! The weather here has been vacillating between mid-60s bliss and sweltering humidity, so I gotta say, I’m a little over summer. But the heat persists so I do, too. Here are a few fall things, like hunter green sequins & leather, slinky thin knits, stripes, and flour bag skirt, that could be styled and worn now as we wait out the waning summer and prepare for the best season of the year.
Happy shopping!

1. Forest green paillette cardigan, $45. LOVE. The drape, the color. Would wear with #5 obvs or go full monochrome and pair it with #11.
2. Tan faux wrap plaid pants, $40. More wrap pants! My eternal favorites. Toss on with #10 and some strappy sandals to meander through the last days of summer.
3. Navy slinky silk polo, $12. The weight of this is perfect for a transitional season, but it’s also so 90s-does-the-50s (a sweet style spot) and it’s only $12!
4. Rosetta Getty asymmetric wrap top, $75. So fun to style with! The ties wrap around and have an almost ballet-core vibe. Would wear with #9 and some chunky boots.
5. Tory Burch bandana pants, $60. I think I’ve shared these before and they sold immediately. I’m not one to wear a bandana at my neck so this is my preferred paisley platform.
6. Black denim bralette, $16. Ahh!! Legit amazing with any bottom in this collage. But come fall it would be SO good over a sheer turtleneck or a crisp, blouse-y button down, too.
7. Red & black leather vest, $43 (also in tan). So Miu Miu, no? Very 90s-does-60s! Wear now with some baggy jeans or later with a black turtleneck, sheer tights, and black miniskirt.
8. Express Tricot charcoal knit polo, $19. Another slim knit! This one has a nice boxy shape.
9. By Malene Birger black leather pants, $82. A steal, truly. Always keep tabs on By Malene Birger and to find real leather pants in such a modern shape under $100 is amazing.
10. N. Peal oatmeal cashmere sweater, $40*. If you’re unfamiliar with N. Peal, their cashmere pieces more often are $600-$1200. This one, with the discount they sent, is $30. Cute with the paisley pants!
11. Forest green leather dropwaist skirt, $145. Stunner. I mean, I am stunned. The color, the fabric, the button front, the drop waist. To me, it is perfect.
12. Green striped knit sweater vest, $30. Obviously we wear this with #11.
13. Taupe striped short suit, $73. Call me old fashioned, but I’m still enamored of a short suit. And stripes?? Get out.
14. Lord & Taylor tan thin knit button down, $30. Another thin knit because tis the season.
15. Blue corduroy cargo pants, $50. Might do a whole newsletter on corduroy because I am feelin it for fall.
16. Green leather jacket, $150*. Vintage is so cool! Imagine this from a modern designer. You’d be looking at a minimum of $1k but here is a beautiful green leather jacket just for you for $150.
17. Red sweater miniskirt set, $30*. Kind of school girl-y in a way I really like. Great separates, too, to mix and match with!
18. Striped denim skirt, $25. BIG fan of striped denim bottoms to pair with all your striped button downs.
19. Flour sack ruffle skirt, $45. Never have I ever found one of these for under $100! And this one has pockets? Tailor-made for a white tee, leather blazer, and loafers for fall. Or a white tank right now.
20. Ferragamo black knit shoe charm sweater, $40*. Remember those famous Ferragamo rainbow platforms? This sweater has three of those little charms on its front pocket. Adorable.
Also, if you saw my initial drop for the online RGV shop, you’ll be happy to know there are still a few pieces left and they’ve all been marked down and have an additional 20% off! Discount is applied at checkout and there are two angora tube tops, faux wrap pants, Pierre Cardin & YSL palazzos, and an MM6 minidress waiting for you…
Thanks so much as always for being here and see you next Sunday for our interview with Liisa! Have a great weekend xx Maggie
If only that green leather jacket was a little bigger because 😍😍😍 I’m excited for the weather to cool down and wear some light cashmere sweaters and my cute coats!
