RGV Fall Collection: Grey Scale
Luxe knitwear, wool coats, and a pinstripe suit that means business!
Hi and happy Wednesday!
So excited to share my penultimate styled collection for the year. As with most of my collections, I find a few hero pieces that inspire a full shoot. This time around it was the one-two-punch of a three-piece pinstripe suit and a cow print blazer. I found them separately, months apart, and knew I’d struck gold. Because I am who I am, when putting together a grey-based collection, it was inevitable for it to be bulked out with black and cream, thus ‘Grey Scale’ was born.
And as is my wont, the styling obviously skews late 80s/early 90s with a focus on textures, interesting silhouettes, luxe fabrics and minimal accessorizing. Here’s the Pinterest board:
And here’s the teaser video from the shoot, featuring Nina Simone’s “Take Care of Business” that perfectly encapsulates the vibe of the shoot: No-nonsense, cool, and stark. It was complete happenstance that the studio we shot in (shoutout to my friend Miranda!) had such dramatic lighting and it was the perfect complement to the sharpness of the styling.
Big thanks again to Roya Ramezankhani for photographing (we shot my first collection together!) and none other than Miss Kentucky herself, Connor Perry for modeling and really bringing this idea to life.
And now, to Grey Scale!
I have one more styled collection coming quickly on the tails of this one and it’s all holiday sparkles! Party dresses, sequins, silks, and suiting to take us into 2025! But Sunday will be back to business as usual, and as always I’m so appreciative of being able to share these big moments with you! Have a great week xx Maggie
I'm so sad I missed the cow print ponyhair blazer!!!!!! it went so quick!
The Bermuda short look and the layered pleated skirt - toooooooo good!!!!!
