Guest Edit: Liv Hylarides of Sababa Vintage
+ Crisp, white separates with bold accessories await!
This week’s guest editor is Liv Hylarides of Sababa Vintage (sababa means “great” or “cool” in Hebrew so clearly our vintage names are simpatico)! Liv is one of my favorite follows on Instagram and has such a unique eye: her knack for marrying pastoral prints and modern shapes & color are inspirational.
About Liv: My current occupation is lovingly indoctrinating my toddler and infant into appreciating all things old. This includes frequent (entirely mandatory) picnic tea parties on vintage quilts I’ve rescued from dusty garage sales. When I’m not busy curating their nostalgia, you’ll find me hiking, surfing Facebook Marketplace for hidden gems, or trying to convince my husband that what we really need is a ramshackle villa in a far-off land.
A quick note from Liv on the curation: You’ll notice a lot of white in the mix. Lately, spring and summer whites have been a balm for my brain—clean, calming, and endlessly versatile. They’re easy to throw on and even easier to style with a colorful bag, a chunky necklace, or an unexpected shoe. All-white doesn’t have to be boring. And in my completely non-professional, semi-humble opinion? no, your whites do not have to match (ed. note: agreed!).

1. Indian cotton balloon sleeve blouse, $85. Poet sleeve blouses don’t scream at you, they whisper. Strong and feminine but not overly frilly. Love pairing them with vintage track shorts.
2. Jade graduated bead necklace, $120. Love a chunky beaded necklace moment and this color is yummy in so many different color combos.
3. Blue striped shirt dress, $125. My mom had this exact dress in the 90s, and she made the unfortunate mistake of letting an obnoxious teen (yep, me) have it—only for me to chop it into a mini. But this one? It’s still perfectly intact and glorious.
4. Loewe pink sunglasses, $202. These pink Loewe sunnies are exactly how I wish people saw me—fun, whimsical, and maybe just a tad classy? They instantly add a playful, elevated touch to even the simplest white outfit, turning it into something special.
5. Small Italian oil painting, $30. Lately, I’ve been really drawn to folk art—it has this childlike sense of wonder that I love. This little Italian oil painting is a great example. It’s small but makes a statement.
6. French silk culottes, $69. Effortlessly stylish and perfect for the upcoming season. Pair it with a vintage baby style tee and ballet flats for a laid back look.
7. Red leather clutch, $18.
posted herself carrying a red leather clutch and I immediately went on eBay and found this beauty. Once again, an easy way to bring a punch of color into an all white look.8. Little gold beetle pin, $30. Brooches: accessories for your accessories! I love how brooches can be the perfect little extra touch to elevate your look. Insect brooches, especially, are so Gucci, and I’m all about this one! It’s honestly the only insect I’ll ever willingly wear.
9. LLBean hunting dog weekender bag, $105. Always on the lookout for a stylish, non-diaper bag carryall—and this vintage LL Bean boat tote might just be the perfect blend of fun and function. Totally obsessed with this print… now imagining it as a weekender bag!
10. Gold strawberry pin, $12. Again, you can never have too many accessories for your accessories. This strawberry brooch is a sweet addition to your summer wardrobe.
11. Fish cowichan sweater, $141. I can’t believe I’m actually sharing this because it’s been sitting in my saves for months, but here we are! This might just be one of the best cowichans I’ve ever seen.
12. Pink coiled bowl, $45. I’ve recently become obsessed with wonky, whimsical pottery—maybe it’s because I spend so much time with a toddler—but honestly, who can ever have too many trinket dishes?
13. Matte olive amphora vase, $65. I love curating pieces that make my heart leap, and this green pottery vase is effortlessly beautiful in its subtlety.
14. Knit crochet pants, $76. I love Sea NY and these vintage crochet pants are very reminiscent of the brand. So many styling possibilities.
15. Rust linen shorts, $54. 90s Liz Claiborne never misses and these red hight waist linen shorts deliver.
16. Swedish brass candlestick holder, $33. Anything Swedish tends to have a certain allure, and they’ve been mastering whimsical design for a long time. The bulbous silhouette of this taper holder is especially captivating.
17. French white nightgown, $26. Nightgowns as everyday wear has to be one of my favorite “trends” to emerge. I adore the versatility and, of course, the comfort that a simple white cotton gown brings. It’s the perfect mix of relaxed and chic.
Thank you so much again, Liv! And thank you all so much for being here! xx Maggie
