Every week I start this newsletter I worry I won’t find enough vintage to feature and style with, and yet somehow, every single week, I have 200 extra pieces I wish I could squeeze in. So this week I’m partially making my dreams come true!
Real talk: I made all the collages yesterday and by the time I added this one to the email, Substack was like, “we can’t send that good lord this email is hellishly long even for people who love vintage you psycho” and that was before I even wrote anything! So my folly is your triumph in that you get 15 extra pieces of vintage to shop right this very moment (as well as the yesterday’s newsletter which was stacked, if I may say).
Enjoy!
From top left to right:
1. Donna Karan wrap shorts, $35 (available here in white!). I shared these on Instagram stories and people loved them so I wanted to make them available here! They’re so cool and the price for both pairs just dropped $15 so hello, yes, these are your new shorts.
2. Red floral bias dress, $19. This looks like Limited Too for adults and I can’t unsee it and I’m fine with that! It’s clearly not made for kids, however, as it is rendered in a sexy power color with a bias cut, so it will hug all the rights places and turn all the heads.
3. Cream silk vest+pant set, $55. You may be wondering where, outside of a wedding, you could wear a cream silk vest set but allow me to shine a light on the possibilities! May I suggest an art gallery, the south of France, a wine tasting (I said what I said), the housewarming of someone with no children, dinner near any body of water, meeting your former flame for “catch up drinks”, the south of Italy, the ballet, a 70s costume party (just add a print poly shirt), cleaning your house, changing your oil, hosting a food fight…
4. Rust jumpsuit, $55. Cute color, comfy fabric, breezy pants - a great jumpsuit!
5. Beige silk trench, $45. Ok don’t let this picture fool you, this trench is perfection. J. Peterman, of Seinfeld fame, makes gorgeous clothing and their silk is always sumptuous. You know I’m a sucker for a long overcoat, too, so this ticks all the boxes for me (and maybe you??).
6. Silk maxi shirtdress, $41. Would wear this with the above trench, no hesitation. So slouchy, so chic, so one-piece-and-you’re-done. This kind of dress is great on its own but winterize it with a black turtleneck underneath and a chunky sweater on top!
7. Silk cropped top, $33. How cute is this? Just a loose lil crop top, standing in front you, asking you to love it. (Say yes!).
8. Cowl neck tank, $11. There are some things from my youth that I’m terrified to see making a comeback, but a ~cool~ cowl neck I can get behind. This tank is simple so it would be really easy to dress up or down and would be something you consistently grab for, I imagine.
9. Tela strong shoulder blouse, $30. As such a massive proponent of shoulder pads, you can’t be surprised I love this. I also love that it’s not gimmicky like some modern takes on a white button down can be - it just has a simple detail that elevates a classic.
10. Railroad stripe short set, $22. Click this link to see the stripes! So cute! This is 100% pjs but I would 100% wear this outside, qualm-free. I would be without qualms!
11. Theory sweater pants, $33. Comfort is queen when I get dressed these days - uncomfortable fashion is the providence of youth. These pants are sweatshirt material but the construction is sleek. Would look great with a t-shirt and Adidas slides or an oatmeal sweater and tall leather boots.
12. Windowpane short set, $43. Windowpane! My favorite print after stripes. This navy set is so cute and a blessed larger size, too, so if you’re a size 1x or 2x, I have found your new summer duo!
13. Sparkle pants, $15. I just can’t never won’t not love sparkle. For the sparkle-shy, these are great starter pants; they’re not in-your-face shiny but offer good dimensionality and a little wink when the lights hit ‘em. Could be just as effective with a grey tee or a tuxedo shirt!
14. Ralph Lauren corset tank, $80. Also shared this one on Instagram and people were clamoring for it! I, too, love this style, and wish I had a charming old town to wander so the top could have its proper milieu.
15. Pleated minidress, $62. Ok I know this doesn’t look modern or cool BUT WAIT. I have this exact dress but in top form - it’s the same designer, same fabric, same neckline, and let me tell you THIS IS GREAT. This is the top that I get the most compliments on because the shoulder and neckline are so so chic. Click the link to see the flirty length and twirl, but let me assure you I found this dress because I wanted more of this neckline but this one doesn’t fit me so I hope it fits you!
Have a great weekend! Go forth and find vintage!
